It's never too late to get your degree and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is proving that. Ten years after leaving Kent State to pursue his dreams in the NFL, he has returned to school and on Saturday he will walk across the stage with his classmates to get his degree.

Edelman said on Twitter that he is doing this to set a great example for his daughter and fulfill his promise that he made to his parents.

“This Saturday, I will be walking with my fellow Kent State graduates. Completing what I started back in 06. I want to set a great example for my daughter, and complete a promise I made to my parents over 10 years ago. To my fellow Golden Flash graduates, Congratulations! #LetsGo”

At Kent State, Edelman played quarterback and he was very successful, passing for 30 touchdowns and almost 5,000 yards. After leaving Kent State he was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round and made the transition to wide receiver.

In his career, he was won three Super Bowls and this last Super Bowl he was named the MVP after hauling in 10 catches for 141 yards.

Saturday will mark the end of a busy seven days for Edelman. Last Saturday, he went with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick to the Kentucky Derby and on Monday he went to the New York Metropolitan Gala with Brady and his wife. Even after such a busy week, it's good to see Edelman take the time to go back to Kent State to get his degree and walk across the stage with all of his classmates.
