The New England Patriots shuffled up their wide receiving corps this offseason, including the departure of a few key contributors. However, this hasn't exactly lent well for veteran wideout Kenny Britt in his quest to secure a more solid role in the passing game.

Britt recently voiced that he feels like he is falling a bit behind the other receivers in training camp, according to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal.

Britt's struggles with his health this offseason are the main culprit for this, as he suffered a hamstring injury in minicamp back in early June. Since then, he hasn't been able to practice in a full capacity with the team, putting him behind the eight ball in terms of getting on the field.

Britt is inactive for the preseason as the team doesn't want to risk him suffering any further injuries prior to the start of the regular season. There are still a couple of weeks before Week 1 kicks off, which could give him enough time to get his body right to take the field. He still has a chance to earn a role in the passing game, as he does have the comfort in playing in the Patriots' offensive scheme last year after coming over.

Britt played in just three games with the Patriots this past season, making two catches on five targets for 23 receiving yards. He didn't play in the playoffs and was not on the active roster for Super Bowl LII. Nonetheless, his focus remains on getting himself physically prepared to take the field this upcoming season.
