The New England Patriots are currently taking on the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. It's not the most exciting game so far, but New England seems to have control of the contest. One bright spot has been the Patriots' defense. Specifically Matthew Judon.

According to Mike Giardi, Matthew Judon has recorded “a career-high 10.5 sacks this season.” The Patriots brought Judon into the organization to be a pass rush specialist for the defense. It seems to be working, as the six-year veteran is having the best season of his career.

The Patriots' defense has been incredible so far throughout this game. Atlanta can't move the ball down the field to save their lives, and Matthew Judon has played a large part in that. Here is the highlight of Judon's 10.5 sack on the season, per the NFL.

This is the first time in Judon's career where he has broken the double-digit barrier. Before this year, Matthew Judon's career-high was 9.5 sacks, which he achieved in 2019 with the Baltimore Ravens. The Patriots were criticized for signing Judon to a big contract. However, it appears as though New England has made the right decision.

There is still plenty of time left in this game. The Falcons could get back into this game. Even so, Judon has plenty of time to wrack up his sack count. We should see the Patriots' veteran outside linebacker continue attacking quarterbacks in the backfield.

Keep an eye on the Patriots' defense, as they're playing lights out against the Falcons in prime time. Look for Judon to potentially record another sack in this game.
