ESPN draft insider Mel Kiper Jr. has released his second mock draft, and he has the New England Patriots drafting former Washington Huskies quarterback Jacob Eason.

The Patriots' biggest question is if the Patriots are going to keep Tom Brady for another season, but even if they keep him, it doesn't rule out a possibility of a quarterback in the first round.

Most draft experts believe Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Herbert will be the first three quarterbacks selected. Kiper expects when the Patriots select it will be between Eason and Utah State quarterback Jordan Love.

“Eason has been getting a lot of buzz from people I talk to in the NFL lately, though he's not a lock to be the fourth quarterback taken; he's still battling with Utah State's Jordan Love, but I'll give the 6-6 Eason the edge for now. He has the best arm of any signal-caller in this class, though he can be erratic at times. It'd be ideal if he got a year or two to sit behind Brady, but he has a much higher ceiling that Stidham. Safety and linebacker are other positions to keep an eye on for New England's top pick.”

A lot of what the Patriots do in the draft probably will come down to what Brady does, but it probably shouldn't have that big of impact. Even if Brady comes back, the team needs to spend a high draft pick on a quarterback, so once he does leave, the team isn't left reeling.
