After having a disappointing season with the New England Patriots last year, receiver Mohamed Sanu is confident in not letting that happen again this season. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Sanu hired a full-time coach to live with him this offseason for non-stop offseason work.

The coach, Drew Lieberman, is a Wesleyan alum who spent nine years working with the Rutgers football program before going out on his own to start his business, The Sideline Hustle.

The Patriots had high hopes for Sanu after they acquired him in a trade with the Falcons. However, he was disappointing for them last season, recording just 26 catches for 207 yards and one touchdown in nine games. Furthermore, the 30-year-old receiver averaged a career-low 8.0 yards per reception with the Patriots.

However, keep in mind that Sanu did suffer an ankle injury in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles, so that most likely affected his play for the rest of the season. Sanu underwent offseason surgery for that ankle injury, and he has fully recovered.

Just recently, Sanu was seen working with Patriots newly signed quarterback, Cam Newton. In addition to working with Newton this offseason, Sanu has also been working with quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer. Nevertheless, if Sanu and Newton could establish a strong connection, they'll be one of the most electrifying QB-receiver tandems in the league.

Sanu will be entering into the final year of his five-year, $32.5 million contract, so he obviously has a lot to prove if he's seeking one left hefty multi-year contract in his career.
