The New England Patriots got absolutely annihilated by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. The Patriots defense had no answers for Josh Allen and the Bills, as New England's normally strong defense, led by Bill Belichick, looked overmatched. Despite the blowout loss, Patriots defender Adrian Phillips had a shocking take on the perceived gap between the Bills and the Patriots.

This is quite an interesting statement from Patriots safety Adrian Phillips after the blowout loss to the Bills. Phillips doesn't buy that there's a big gap between Buffalo and New England, rather, that the Bills “made plays” and New England didn't make theirs.

While there's always an execution factor in every sports game, this is just an outlandish take from Phillips. There might not be a big gap between the Bills and Patriots on defense, but there surely was on offense.

There was simply no way that New England quarterback Mac Jones was going to be able to keep pace with Allen and the Bills. Jones wasn't ready for that kind of back-and-forth affair- and maybe didn't have the necessary weapons for that kind of game anyway.

That, not to mention the fact that the Patriots were beaten soundly in their last two games against the Bills, sounds like a pretty big gap, despite what Adrian Phillips says.
