The defending champions New England Patriots are the NFL's oldest team.

The Patriots have a league-high 15 players who are at least 30 years old, per PhillyVoice.com's Jimmy Kempski (via Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith).

The Patriots have 15 players who are 30 or older, the most in the NFL, as noted by Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com.

After the 41-year-old (Tom) Brady, the next-oldest player in New England is the newly-arrived tight end Ben Watson, who is 38.

Stephen Gotskowski is 35 and Matthew Slater, Brian Hoyer, Julian Edelman, and Michael Bennett are all 33. Newly-arrived Demaryius Thomas is 31, as are twin brothers Jason McCourty and Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, and Marcus Cannon.

Three players are 30: Dontrelle Inman, James Develin, and Nate Ebner.

According to Kempski, the Patriots' closest pursuers are the Atlanta Falcons, who have 14 players who are over 30. The Buffalo Bills have 13. The Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins have 12 each. The Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, and New York Giants have 11.

On the flip side, the Cleveland Browns are the youngest NFL team with just three players over 30 years of age. The Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have four apiece.

Leading the charge for the Patriots is the 41-year-old Brady, who is entering his 20th NFL season. The 38-year-old Watson, who returns to the Patriots after 10 years, is facing a four-game suspension for potentially violating the league's substance abuse policy. He and Brady were teammates on the Patriots squad which won Super Bowl XXXIX in 2004.

Can the Patriots defy Father Time in the 2019 NFL season? It should be interesting to find out.
