We're living in kind of weird times. And if you need something in the sports world to help prove that, it might be this. According to Joe Klingele of ESPN, Caesar's Sportsbook does not have the New England Patriots as the odds favorite to win the AFC East in 2020.

What's craziest about this though is that it makes sense. There's a lot of logic behind not having them as the favorites.

New England still has a lot going for them with a great defense. That alone could lead them to a good amount of wins. That's why they still have the best odds out of their division to win the entire AFC. However, the Patriots have an over/under of 8.5 wins and a +180 when it comes to winning the division.

For comparison, the Buffalo Bills have an over/under of nine wins and a +100 when it comes to winning the division.

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins both fall behind quite a bit after that. But both raise at least a little bit of a threat. Especially the Jets, who did end 2019 by winning six of their last eight games.

Of course, a big reason for the Patriots dropping the “favorites” status that has surrounded the team for well over the last decade is simple. They lost superstar quarterback Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this free agency.

Without their Hall of Fame quarterback, many are wondering how the team will hold up. It's a fair question, even if there is still reason to believe they could succeed.

Could this be the year that another AFC East team dethrones the Patriots? According to Caesar's Sportsbook it looks that way.
