Everything seems to be going along nicely for the New England Patriots this season—besides the health on their offensive line. New England is placing left tackle Isaiah Wynn on injured reserve per Field Yates of ESPN.

The Patriots left tackle injured his toe in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. As the team proceeded to blowout the Dolphins 43-0, New England turned their attention to Wynn's health.

On Monday, Wynn underwent an MRI on his toe and it was determined that he has turf toe. By looking at the words ‘turf toe' it may not seem like a serious injury but it can become a lingering issue.

Instead of allowing him to be week-to-week on the active roster, the Patriots decided to move him to injured reserve. Therefore, Wynn will be required to miss at least eight weeks before he can be activated back to the roster.

This season, Wynn became the team's starting left tackle after the team chose to let Trent Brown walk in free agency. New England selected Wynn with the 23rd overall pick in last year's draft but he spent the entire season on injured reserve.

Correspondingly, with the Patriots losing their left tackle, they went out and signed Caleb Benenoch in free agency. Benenoch spent the first three seasons of his playing career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; starting in all 16 games for them in 2018.

Along with Wynn, the Patriots are already without David Andrews and Marcus Cannon on their offensive line.

Andrews is out for the season with blood clots in his lungs but Cannon is considered week-to-week with a shoulder injury.
