New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has so far had a rookie campaign filled with highs and lows.

Jones has had key moments over the season, which include leading the Patriots to a road comeback win over the Houston Texans. Still, turnovers have been one issue for him this year, as he has recorded six interceptions and one fumble lost.

In the big picture, there has been much talk into whether Jones has so far met expectations with the Patriots. Critics point to his lack of assertiveness in opening up the offense with key downfield throws. And on the other side, many have pointed to his cool, calm and collected demeanor when running the offense to show on why he has the potential to be a stout pocket passer.

However, Jones is not interested in such talk about expectations. In speaking ahead of the Patriots' home game against the New York Jets, Jones provided one Bill Belichick-like, straightforward answer when asked on whether he has met his own expectations this season.

“I don't really believe in expectations,” Jones said. “I just focus on every day and just doing my job.”

This response from Jones is not one that reaches the level of Belichick's famed “We’re on to Cincinnati” soundbite. But at this point in the season, Jones sure is not interested in opening up about the narratives and talking points regarding his rookie campaign so far.

For now, Jones will look to lead the Patriots to a key win over the Jets in Week 7.
