The kicker position for the New England Patriots has been a revolving door and they're hoping their latest addition to the roster can provide them some aid. Due to their kicking woes, New England signed trick-shot kicker Josh Gable to their practice squad.

Gable is known for his YouTube videos, where he is seen making spectacular kicks. The talented kicker didn't play in college but he did play in the Indoor Football League for the Nebraska Danger and Tucson Sugar Skulls.

The Patriots actually brought Gable in to work out for the team earlier this season. Ultimately, New England chose to go with Mike Nugent over him in hopes to fix their kicking issues.

Following Nugent's struggles, the Patriots replaced him with veteran Nick Folk. But recently, Folk had to undergo an emergency appendectomy; forcing New England to sign Kai Forbath for a week.

With Folk's status with the team being up in the air, the Patriots brought Gable in to provide some assurance at the position. It's uncertain if Gable will end up getting a chance to prove himself worthy of being the kicker for the Patriots.

Of course, the only reason why New England is still looking for a kicker is that Stephen Gostkowski is on injured reserve.

Nevertheless, why shouldn't the Patriots give Gable an opportunity to become the kicker? Altogether, New England kickers have only converted 75 percent of their field goals thus far (tied for 22nd in the NFL). In addition, the kickers they've had have missed six of their extra-point attempts.

While it's unlikely the Patriots ask him to spin the ball on the ground and kick it, he could be asked to make field goals for the team in the near future.
