Desperate times call for desperate measures. For the New England Patriots, they are going through those desperate times, and, subsequently, are doing what is necessary to combat them.

With the team dealing with the flu bug, the Patriots flew to Houston, for Sunday night's bout with the Texans, on two separate flights, according to Field Yates of ESPN. They did so to accommodate those who are sick and to keep others away from them.

Nine Patriots players are questionable for “Sunday Night Football” with the illness, including safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Jamie Collins, offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, cornerback Stephon Gilmore, linebacker D'Onta Hightower, cornerback Joejuan Williams, offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon and linebacker Kyle Van Noy.

Cornerback Jason McCourty (groin), defensive lineman Byron Coward (head) and tight end Ryan Izzo (illness) have already been ruled out.

Said Patriots head coach on the matter on Friday, via the team's official website:

“It is what it is. We have players on the practice squad, we have players on our roster. So, if we need somebody to step in to a spot, then hopefully they’re ready to do it. We’ll see.”

Belichick noted that the illness has “kind of hit everybody” in the organization and that it would have been hard to play earlier in the week with so many players dealing with it. Luckily, the night time slot of their Week 13 bout will allow New England a few more hours to rest up and regain their health for a challenging dual in the South.
