On Friday night, the NFL conditionally reinstated Josh Gordon, thus allowing him to rejoin the New England Patriots. Among the people who believe that the decision makes the Patriots Super Bowl favorites, is none other than O.J. Simpson.

Even before the Gordon news, it's safe to assume that New England will be in the mix for the Super Bowl in 2019. But the addition of Gordon does provide the Patriots with some much-needed help in the offense.

Last year, the Patriots traded for Gordon after the Cleveland Browns no longer saw the troubled receiver as part of their plans. Gordon has always been phenomenal when he is on the field but off-the-field issues have hindered his playing career.

In 11 games with the Patriots, Gordon had 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns. Shortly before the playoffs began, Gordon was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for yet another time.

During his suspension, the playmaking wideout focused on his mental health and prepared himself to return to the league. On Sunday, Gordon can begin proving himself to New England that his past problems are no longer an issue.

This season, even with Tom Brady being 42-years old, the Patriots are currently tied with the Kansas City Chiefs as the favorites with 6/1 odds to win Super Bowl 54. Both teams faced each other in last year's AFC Championship game.

With the return of Gordon, New England's receiving corps consists of Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry, Demaryius Thomas, and Gordon. Brady is likely smiling ear-to-ear looking at the current outlook of the pass-catchers he has in 2019.
