With coaches starting to be relieved of their duties the rumors are swirling about New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and if this will be the offseason he becomes a head coach again. Most organizations what to keep their guys in place but Patriots owner Robert Kraft is flattered that other teams are interested in his guys.

“I care about winning Sunday. That’s what really what I care about,” Kraft told the Herald, stopping for a moment last night at the team’s Children’s Holiday Party at the Putnam Club at Gillette Stadium via The Boston Herald. “Whatever happens . . . you know, we have good people. I’m actually flattered that people are after our people.”

Last season McDaniels accepted the Indianapolis Colts job, before backing out of the agreement and staying with the Patriots. With the Green Bay Packers letting go of Mike McCarthy there is a lot of speculation that McDaniels could take that job and he was asked about that rumor on Tuesday.

“I don’t really worry about the future, and honestly, each week is a tremendous challenge. We try to stay in the moment and focus about the task at hand which this week is considerable considering we haven’t had a lot of success down (in Miami),” said McDaniels. “This is a big challenge for us. I didn’t do nearly well enough in my role in my job last year when we went down to Miami . . . it is what it is. I don’t really pay too much attention to it. Love what we do here in terms of working hard to try to come up with the best play for our players each week. That’s where my focus is going to remain.”

Chances are that McDaniels will be offered another job this offseason, the big question is will he accept it? Or will he decide he wants to stay with the Patriots and maybe one day be the successor for Bill Belichick?
