Several players of the New England Patriots expressed their disapproval on the NFL's plans to push through with the upcoming season. The league has yet to place safety protocols for the teams to follow as football operations are about to resume. With two weeks to go before training camps start, there seem to be more questions than there are answers.

Here are some of the negative reactions of the Patriots:

Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones wrote on Twitter, “I don’t know who needs to hear this but you can’t social distance football.”

Teammate Dont'a Hightower replied to that with, “Ain’t no way.”

Teammate Patrick Chung added, “Not a damn shot. They are trippin.”

Patriots defensive backs Jason McCourty and Devin McCourty wrote at SI.com that players are in the dark about what the plans are.

“So many questions with virtually no answers,” they wrote.

With the upcoming 2020 season looming around the corner, the players and the coaches are placing themselves in a vulnerable position. Football, as we know it, is one of the most physical sports in the world. There is a high possibility that they might contract the coronavirus from playing games with the constant banging of bodies.

America remains to be one of the most infected countries in the world. Numbers are not going down as there are around 3.4 million positive cases with a death toll count of over 136,000 and counting.

Despite a revamped Patriots side, the players themselves are willing to hold back until it is completely safe to play again. Their playoff aspirations can wait as the safety of everyone involved is still the utmost priority.
