It's going to be a tough game for the New England Patriots as they prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys at Gillette Stadium. However, their weakened offense looks set to get a lot weaker as wide receiver Phillip Dorsett is still not fully recovered for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Mike Reiss was one of the first insiders to report of the recent development in the Patriots' practice facility. His update dashed the hopes of Patriots fans that he'll be able to suit up for the team.

Given this fact, it will be a great loss for the struggling Patriots to play without their star man in Dorsett. The 26-year-old has been one of the more reliable passing options for the Patriots, and not having him puts a big dent on their attacking potential.

Dorsett sustained a head injury, so it's understandable why the team doctors were particularly careful with him. However, he was having the best season of his career before getting listed as questionable ahead of the game. He's notched 332 yards and five touchdowns on 26 receptions. These numbers are close to his sophomore season, his best statistical year.

He's been one of the bright spots in a team that doesn't have a lot of those. With Tom Brady also possibly not playing due to his injured elbow, the crippled Patriots defense took an even bigger hit.

If the Pats want to keep their losses to a minimum, the entire team must step up and do their part. Dorsett will definitely pitch in for the win once he recovers from his injury and is cleared to play.
