The New England Patriots saw one of their injured wide receivers come back to practice on Thursday. After not participating in Wednesday's session, Phillip Dorsett returned on Thursday, per the team's official injury report.

Dorsett is not a lock to play in Sunday's bout with the Dallas Cowboys, however. Despite participating in practice, the wide-out must clear concussion protocol. He sustained a concussion in Week 11's win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

On the season, Dorsett has recorded 26 receptions for 332 yards and five touchdowns in nine games played. He hauled in three catches for 33 yards and a touchdown before suffering the concussion in the win over the Eagles.

Fellow wide receiver Mohamed Sanu did not participate for a second straight day. He is dealing with an ankle injury, which may sideline him for a “few weeks,” according to earlier reports.

Linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley (knee), safety Patrick Chung (heel/chest), defensive back Nate Ebner (ankle/back), wide receiver Julian Edelman (shoulder), running back Damien Harris (hamstring), and linebacker John Simon (elbow) were all limited in Thursday's practice.

If both Dorsett and Sanu are unavailable to play on Sunday, the Patriots will be remarkably thin at wide receiver. Behind the two (and Edelman), New England has N'Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, and special-teamer Matthew Slater.

The Patriots may have to opt to go more ground-and-pound if both Dorsett and Sanu do not play. Or, they will run their passing offense through an unproductive group of tight ends and running back James White. Nonetheless, the injuries are striking New England at a less-than-ideal time.
