In the last several weeks, there have been questions concerning the play of New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady as his play has taken a notable dip.

This has led to speculations that he is dealing with an MCL injury that has impacted his performance on the field. During an interview on the Mut & Callahan with Marc James and Greg Dickerson on Friday, Brady sidestepped that conversation entirely by voicing that he doesn't want to discuss any of the ailments he may be dealing with, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com.

“I am not getting into specifics of injuries,” Brady said. “It just doesn’t make any sense. Nothing benefits me talking about injuries and my injuries and so forth. Again, it’s football. There are a lot of guys dealing with a lot of things. It’s the nature of the sport. It is about having mental and physical toughness and grinding through whatever you have and try and go out there and help the team win.”

These comments from Brady don't entirely shoot down the notion that he is dealing with a lingering MCL injury. Keep in mind, he did acknowledge in this same interview that he had been on the injury report for a few weeks due to a knee ailment that limited his participation in practice.

Although Brady doesn't want to talk about it, this does give some credence to reports that he is dealing with some sort of injury, which he attempted to mask after Sunday's 24-12 win over the Buffalo Bills by stating he's 100 percent healthy. The extent of the injury may not be quite clear, but it may be playing a factor in his drop-off in his performance on the field.

Nonetheless, this won't prevent Brady from taking the field as he's set on helping his team secure a first-round playoff bye and possibly the top overall seed in the AFC postseason picture.
