Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has announced his involvement in “The Ballina Cup,” a virtual beer pong tournament started by music artist Post Malone in an effort to raise money for the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The tournament will include 32 different celebrities (16 teams) that will chip in money to participate and play beer pong via Instagram live.

Gronkowski, who retired from the Patriots in March of 2019, will be paired up with his girlfriend and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Camille Kostek.

Among others who participated are former Cleveland Brown quarterback Johnny Manziel, former Patriot receiver Danny Amendola and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Outside the world of football, celebrities like country music star Kane Brown, Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin, rapper Machine Gun Kelly and New York Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman also joined.

The tournament will last eight days and the winners will receive a championship belt, trophy and chains as well as bragging rights. Games for the tournament started at 5 p.m. on Friday via Instagram live and two games will be broadcasted per night.

The initial streams of the tournament were so popular on the app that Instagram temporarily crashed in some parts of the United States.

As for Gronk, the former Patriots star has been enjoying retirement, getting involved with various endeavors such as NBC's “The Masked Singer” and the WWE.

On the field, Rob Gronkowski totaled 521 regular-season catches for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns in just nine seasons with New England. The four-time All-Pro retired at the young age of 29 to the surprise of many.
