Rob Gronkowski was considered a legend on and off of the field with New England Patriots; his latest story proves it. While appearing on a podcast, Gronkowski shared a hilarious story that involved Roger Goodell.

The retired tight end went on the Barstool Sports podcast, Pardon my Take, to discuss his experiences in the NFL. During the conversation, Gronkowski explained that Goodell once called him without him being aware of who it was.

“I get a phone call from New York and it’s no caller ID,” Gronkowski said, as transcribed by WEEI. “And I’m just sitting there, like, ‘Man, I don’t want to answer this phone call. I don’t want to answer it.’ But, you know, I’m bored, I’m sitting there debating it, so I don’t answer.

At first, Rob Gronkowski didn't recognize the number and believed it was a prank. Instead of it being a random fan prank calling him, Gronkowski discovered that it was the commissioner of the NFL.

“It ends up being Roger Goodell again,” Gronkowski said. “‘Hey Rob, it’s Roger Goodell. I am just looking for you. I am not sure if this is the right number or not and I just wanted to congratulate you. You have made the NFL top 100 players of all-time.’ … I called the office back, the number he told me to call, and he didn’t bring anything up about that phone call.”

During his playing career, Rob Gronkowski was regarded as one of the most charismatic players in the league.

Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he would poke fun at Goodell. One could only wonder what Rob Gronkowski was saying to the commissioner during that phone call.
