The New England Patriots have faced big questions regarding star cornerback Stephon Gilmore all offseason. Gilmore insisted on a new contract and reiterated that he would hold out if he wasn't given one. With training camps set to kick off, Gilmore might end up changing his mind.
Per Field Yates, Gilmore is set to return, although he is being placed on the PUP list.
Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore was present when team veterans reported to training camp, per source.
He will begin camp on PUP after a season-sending injury in 2020.

So, Gilmore didn't get the contract he wanted, but the Patriots also didn't deal him and he is set to appear at training camp, although he is still working on rehabbing his injury.
If Gilmore didn't report, he was bound to pay a hefty amount of fines, so this could be nothing more than a formality.
Stephon Gilmore was facing 50K in fines per day for unexcused training camp absences. He will begin camp on PUP as he continues to recover from the quad injury he suffered late last year. Gilmore has been running and doing football activities for some time. #Patriots

The Patriots have had a busy offseason and will have a vastly different roster than they did last season. Cam Newton is still around, although they took Mac Jones in the first round and there are talks of him being the starter when the first week rolls around.
Training camps are here, finally, and the situation with Gilmore will be one to monitor, especially as he gets healthy and is set to come off of the PUP list sooner rather than later.
