New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may have missed out on winning back-to-back Super Bowls in 2018. But if it’s any consolation, he has repeated in terms of being named the No. 1 player in the NFL Network’s annual Top 100 player rankings, which is voted on by other NFL players.

Brady came out ahead of Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, Falcons receiver Julio Jones, and Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, who rounded out the top five. The Saints’ Drew Brees (No. 8) and the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers (No. 10) were the other quarterbacks in the Top 10.

The 40-year-old Brady is coming off another outstanding season in 2017. He threw for 4,577 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions as he won his third career MVP award. He was also lights out in their playoff run, which culminated in a record-setting performance (505 yards, 3 TDs) in a losing effort in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite showing he clearly has a lot more in the tank even into his 40s, there was speculation this offseason that Brady could call time on his outstanding career. But he has committed to playing for at least one more season, and at the rate he’s going, he could still follow through on his plan to play on into his mid-40s.

It remains to be seen if Brady can still be the best player in the NFL by then. But as his peers have indicated with this ranking, they still see him as the No. 1 guy in the league ahead of his 41-year-old season.
