Since making his return to the field after a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing policy, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has played a major role in the passing game.

In fact, Edelman's performance on the field after suffering a torn ACL last August has impressed star quarterback Tom Brady, according to Tyler Sullivan of 247 Sports.

“Yeah, absolutely,” Tom Brady said Friday when asked if he was impressed how Edelman has been able to bounce back from that injury. “I mean, Julian's been such a great player for our team. I think his mental and physical toughness are just unmatched in a lot of ways. I have so much confidence in him. He really does all the dirty work for us, you know? He's so scrappy and goes in there and blocks hard, catches balls over the middle.”

Edelman has been highly productive this season in his first five games back as he has 31 receptions on 44 targets for 322 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The 32-year-old has been a consistent factor in the passing game as he has recorded at least four receptions in each game along with more than 50 receiving yards. He has picked it up over the two games with at least six catches and 70 receiving yards in each contest.

He has been a huge part in helping the Patriots experience much offensive success over the last several weeks that has seen the team produce more than 30 points in four out of the last fives that he has been in the fold. Edelman's play has been quite encouraging as he hasn't lost a step after a potentially career-altering injury.

Edelman will have a chance to play a big part in the offense over the second half of the season and in the playoffs to help push the Patriots to yet another Super Bowl appearance.
