Last year, the New England Patriots completely revamped the quarterback position with the exception of superstar Tom Brady. The team traded away their talented backups one by one starting with Jacoby Brissett who was shipped to the Indianapolis Colts followed by Jimmy Garoppolo being traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

These trades were a bit perplexing considering Brady's advanced age and the fact that both showed promise. Garoppolo being traded surprised everyone as he was seemingly ready to take over for Brady at a moment's notice. This led to speculation that ran rampant in New England about a rip internally and between Brady and Garoppolo. The new franchise quarterback of the 49ers downplayed any talk of bad blood with Brady as he claims they all still talk in a text group, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI Sports Radio.

Even though they are no longer together on a daily basis, the three still keep in touch via group text.

Garoppolo went into detail about the relationship between the three quarterbacks, via Hannable.

“We always throw out jokes and stuff like that,” Garoppolo said to WEEI.com. “It was a good group of guys. I love those guys. Fun guys to be in the same room with. It was a good time.”

“It’s the same humor that we shared in the QB room,” he added. “It was just three guys that all got along very well. We played off each other well, too. It was funny.”

Brissett confirmed that they all are indeed still a close-knit group despite the fact they're all of them now playing on separate teams.

“We’re still close,” Brissett said to WEEI.com. “I don’t think we need to be around each other to be tight.”

The real question now is how long will Brady play in New England and if Garoppolo or Brissett will have success in their new journey in the NFL. Garoppolo is getting a lot of buzz in San Francisco for being their next franchise player while Brissett's future is uncertain as he'll now backup returning star Andrew Luck in Indianapolis.
