Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are once again looking like serious contenders in the AFC playoff race this season. They do have some competition this year, especially from the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. Strangely, Brady is dead last in the NFL in one intriguing statistic.

Throughout the first 10 weeks of the season, Brady is ranked last in passer rating against the blitz.

In a quote shared by WEEI, Brady talked about the stat and also opened up about his thoughts on how to fix the issues.

“Any time you are last in the league in anything probably isn’t very good. I haven’t studied that as much. I think if they blitz, it gives us great opportunities to make plays. If we’re not doing that we need to figure out how to do it. I think if you rush, three, or four, or five, there’s going to be opportunities really in any case. It is just what you do with those opportunities. Hopefully we can figure that out and get out of the basement, work our way up.”

Brady also made it clear the issues that New England has do not fall on any one player to fix.

“Every position needs to sure things up. The reality is for the quarterback I can do what  I need to do and I need to sure things up with what I can do. And the different positions do the same thing. It’s part of what this week is all about — looking at what you’re doing, what the rest of the team is doing, how my position fits into the rest of the offense and that goes for every player. I don’t think any player is really satisfied. I think we’re all looking to get better and improve.”

Throughout the first 10 games of the season, Brady has continued putting up great all-around numbers. He has completed 65.2 percent of his pass attempts for 2,748 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

New England is currently 7-3 on the season heading into their Week 12 matchup with the New York Jets following the bye.

Expect to see Brady and the Patriots' coaching staff working hard to fix their issues. New England is a dangerous team once again this season and are going to be very difficult to beat come playoff time when they fine tune everything.
