The New England Patriots are set to take the field against the New York Jets looking to get back on track after suffering a disappointing 34-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans. However, there are now some questions around the status of star quarterback Tom Brady for Sunday's contest, as he is reportedly dealing with an illness to go along with a knee issue that led to him not practicing on Friday, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

The decision for Brady to not practice was likely used to help give him more time to rest ahead of Sunday's game, which barring any major development should see him take the field for the contest. He has previously played through an illness in his career, and this situation should fall in line with that game plan once again. This may especially be the case given that the Patriots are coming off that disappointing loss to the Titans in their last game prior to the Week 11 bye.

Brady notably struggled in the contest in which he completed just 21-of-41 passes for 254 yards and no touchdowns in the contest. In fact, he has thrown just one touchdown in the last three weeks, which is a significant drop-off from what he has shown over the bulk of his career. This has begun to creep in questions concerning playing ability dropping off in his 19th season in the league. He is currently on pace for 27 touchdown passes, which would be his lowest amount since the 2013 campaign.

The 41-year-old will have the chance to rebound this week against the Jets after being able to refocus and rest his body during the bye week. Tom Brady will also have the benefit of having Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski back into the fold for the contest after he missed the last two games due to nagging back and ankle injuries.
