Antonio Brown made his New England Patriots debut on Sunday, and it was a successful one, as the wide receiver caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in a 43-0 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Afterward, Tom Brady said he was pleased by the touchdown in Brown's first game.

“It was a good start,” Brady said, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI. “I was just trying to find an open guy and he was snapping off some routes and did a good job. It was good to find him.”

Brady completed 20 of his 28 passes for 264 yards and a couple of scores.

The Patriots signed Brown last Monday, almost immediately after he demanded his release from the Oakland Raiders.

Brown has had a tumultuous 2019, to say the least.

It all started at the conclusion of the 2018 campaign, when Brown asked to be traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers met his request, sending him to the Raiders for a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder.

However, it did not take long for Brown to wear out his welcome in Oakland.

Whether it was frostbite on his feet or a seemingly never-ending battle with the NFL concerning the usage of his now-banned helmet, Brown missed most of training camp.

Things then reached a boiling point when the Raiders fined Brown for skipping some practices, which led to a heated confrontation between Brown and general manager Mike Mayock at practice.

Brown then asked to be released after finding out Oakland had voided the $30 million in guaranteed money on his contract. The Raiders honored his demand, and he then signed with the Pats.

On top of that, Brown was hit with rape allegations last week.
