New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is now opening up about the top NFL-societal topic of the last couple years.

Though leaked highlights with his interview with Oprah Winfrey, Brady explained that he understands why some players choose to kneel during the National Anthem, via OWN.

“I think there were a lot of really good, healthy conversations coming out of it in our locker room,” Brady said. “The great part about sports are the relationships, and I’ve been in it for a long time. I’ve been with guys from all different parts of the country. Every color, race, belief. And you know what? You respect what other people — I do, I respect why people are doing what they’re doing. And they’re doing it for different reasons. And that’s OK. You can do things for your reasons, they can do things for their reason, and you have respect for that. But I thought it was great.

Brady, 40, has revealed a lot in this interview that's yet to be aired on the OWN network.

He's already revealed that “anxiety” was the reason for his willingness to drop the Deflategate appeal and that he and Bill Belichick's relationship is as strong as ever. The big bomb of the interview comes in the form of Brady understanding why other players decide to kneel during the National Anthem.

The answer came on the heels of Oprah stating that she felt the topic has divided the country while asking Brady what the feel was like in the NFL locker room.
