New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski considered retirement after last season and there are rumors that he could decide to hang up the cleats after this season. Tom Brady was asked about Gronkowski retiring on Monday's Mut & Callahan show on WEEI Radio and he said that he hasn't had any conversations about the future with him.

“I don’t know. I don’t know. Again, Gronk and I have never talked about it,” Brady said. “He knows how I feel about him. He has been just a great person and player for us, and teammate and friend. It’s amazing what he has accomplished. We haven’t talked about it. Everyone makes different choices at the end of every season. I love playing with him.”

Gronkowski hasn't been as big of a threat in the passing game this year and has continued to battle a back injury most of the season. he played 77 of the 83 offensive snaps on Sunday but only finished with one catch. He was a big factor in the run game but it's still concerning how few passes are being thrown his way. Gronkowski was asked about the rumors about him retiring, but he didn't want to discuss it, rather wanted to focus on enjoying their big victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

“My thoughts about right now – that I’m going to have to enjoy the win,” Gronkowski said. “That’s what we do. You get one night to enjoy the win, actually, around here. You do, you get one night. And then when you wake up tomorrow morning, then it’s on to Kansas City. So, you get a couple hours, so I’ll be doing that and then I’ll be thinking about next week.”

Expect this to be a news story throughout the rest of the playoffs and into the offseason until Gronkowski decides if he wants to come back next year.
