Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady made an appearance on the Howard Stern Show and revealed the nickname former teammate Matt Cassel gave him after suffering a swollen testicle.

Brady said he once suffered a hernia that caused one of his testicles to swell to the size of an orange. After that incident, Cassel gave the future Hall of Famer the nickname “Purple Balls.”

Cassel would also draw pictures of it and leave it in Brady's locker daily to make sure that he wouldn't forget about what had happened.

Cassel spent the first four years with Tom Brady with the Patriots before bouncing around the league. Cassel played ten more years making stops with the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.

Cassel and Brady had a great relationship, but that wasn't the only revealing part of the interview with Stern. Brady was asked about skipping OTAs every year, and he said a lot of that has to do with his wife:

“She felt like I would play football all season, and she’d take care of the house,” Brady said via Complex. “Then, when the season ended, I’d be like ‘Great, let me get into all my other business activities, let me get into my football training,’ and she’s going ‘When are you going to do for things for the house? When are you going to take the kids to school?’ That was a big part of our marriage.”

Brady was very open about many topics, and maybe Stern should try to get a different NFL player on every week to talk about a variety of things.
