The New England Patriots won it all for the fifth time in the Tom Brady era last season as they pulled off an incredible comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. Although Brady missed the first four games of last season, the veteran recently admitted it might have been his best year throwing the football.

Brady, who recently wrote a book called, “The TB12 Method,” said the following about how he was feeling last year, via ESPN's Mike Reiss.

“I'd never thrown the ball as well as I did that day — not when the Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2001, or in 2004, 2005 or 2014 — not ever, in fact, in my life. It was one of those days. I was ‘in the zone.' … I remember being really excited about the opportunity to play and to show all the things I'd been working on in the offseason.”

With Brady winning his fifth Super Bowl title, throwing only two interceptions all year, and cementing his legacy as the greatest quarterback of all time in the minds of many, the fact he was at the top of his game in his opinion isn't all that surprising.

What is surprising is the fact Brady is still going strong at 40 years old. The veteran quarterback didn't have his best day against the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener in New England, but no one will be shocked if he comes out in Week 2 and tosses three or four touchdowns to get the Patriots back on track.

The Patriots will get back to work in Week 2 on the road against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Both teams are looking for their first win of the 2017 campaign.
