There's a belief that Antonio Brown would be picked up by an NFL team before the season is over. Based on how the New England Patriots are performing, some surmise Tom Brady's team as the favorite to pick him up.

However, the six-time Super Bowl champion was quick to brush all of the attention away from him, saying that whether the Patriots actually sign Brown to another contract after letting him go earlier this season is not his decision to make.

“I don’t think those decisions, honestly, are up to me,” Brady said on Westwood One, via Ryan Hannable of WEEI. “They are not up to me when we cut players or sign players. I think the people in the personnel department decide those things. My job is to play quarterback, and that is what I’m trying to do as well as I possibly can.”

He made the correct statement since he's not in charge of any front-office decisions the team might make. However, it cannot be denied that the long-time Patriot needs help if they're to win a seventh Super Bowl under the Belichick-Brady era.

The team consistently struggles offensively in spite of his talents. There is a clear need for a decent wide receiver to help Tom Brady, and that's what Brown could offer. However, the Pats are still afraid of the potential issues the controversial playmaker can cause, so their decision to stay clear of him stands.

However, Brown's team is confident that the man will be picked up before the end of the season. He's too talented of a player for teams to completely ignore. Eventually, a team will be desperate enough to pick up his services and make him work on the gridiron.

Whether that happens at all is another question for another day, though.
