New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has often been an overlooked player for the team, but Tom Brady has had nothing but praise for him and called him one of the toughest players in franchise history. Edelman was a huge part of the Patriots win on Sunday over the Los Angeles Chargers, hauling in nine passes for 151 yards and Brady thought it was one of best games Edelman ever played.

“I think yesterday was one of the best games he’s ever played, at the biggest moment,” Brady said Monday on WEEI morning show Mut & Callahan via MassLive.com. “That’s when Julian is at his best — in the biggest moments.”

Brady and Edelman have been together for 10 years now, and at this point, nothing surprises the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

“Nothing surprises me with Jules,” Brady said. “He’s as mentally and physically tough as anyone who has played for the Patriots.”

Edelman tore his ACL in August 2017 and then missed the first four games of this year because of suspension, but has still been able to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark on the season.

The most impressive part of this year has been how much focus has been on him. Teams haven't had to focus as much on Rob Gronkowski this year, which has put most defensive focus on Edelman. Even with the extra attention, he has still had no issue getting open and has been wreaking havoc on opposing teams.

If the Patriots are going to win another Super Bowl, Edelman is going to be a big reason that happens.
