Tom Brady is living the dream, and now he has a defense, too. The New England Patriots defense has been the NFL's best this season. Not only has the defense allowed an average of 15 points through four games, it has scored more touchdowns than the Miami Dolphins.

No one appreciates the effort the defense is giving more than Tom Brady. Per Lance Reynolds of the Patriots Wire, Brady commended his defense:

“Our defense is playing great football — the best football I can ever remember our defense playing, which has been really spectacular to watch.”

While keeping the opposing offenses to an average of 3.75 points per game, the defense has made Brady's job a whole lot easier in his age 42 season.

In a slugfest in which the Buffalo Bills kept pace with New England for the entire game, despite quarterback Josh Allen being knocked out of the contest, it was the defense which sealed the 16-10 win on a Jamie Collins interception in the final 90 seconds.

Many are comparing this New England defense to the unit in the early 2000s with Ty Law, Richard Seymour and Willie McGinest. With a defense that is lights out and still having Brady under center, the 2019 Patriots have all the makings of a team that can win now.

For the foreseeable future, New England is expected to keep rolling with a couple NFC East teams and the other New York squad set to face the Pats within the next three weeks. We will see if the New England defense can continue to impose its will.
