New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady is set to play against the New York Jets, according to Michael Giardi of NFL Network.

Brady was limited during the week because of a knee injury and didn't practice Friday because of an illness, but Ian Rapoport says this was mostly precautionary. While the future Hall of Famer was listed as questionable to play, Giardi hints that there was “never a doubt” about Brady playing.

Brady and the Patriots are looking to get back to their winning ways after suffering an ugly 34-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans heading into the bye week. The 41-year-old struggled against the Titans, completing just 21-of-41 passes for 254 yards and failing to throw a touchdown for the second time in three weeks.

The good news for Tom Brady is he'll have star tight end Rob Gronkowski back in the lineup. Gronk missed the last two games with nagging injuries and hasn't been himself for much of the year, but his presence should bolster New England against a mediocre Jets defense.

The Patriots currently have a two-game lead over the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East and can take another step toward the division crowd by taking care of the lowly Jets. New York is 3-7 on the season, and rookie quarterback Sam Darnold will not play Sunday. Veteran backup Josh McCown will start.
