Players around the NFL are being forced to use new helmets, and we have already seen the effect it has had, with Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown threatening not to play football anymore unless the league allows him to wear his old headgear.

Count New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady among those who isn't necessarily a fan of the change, either, but he also says he is attempting to make it work:

“I've been experimenting with a couple different ones, and I don't really love the one that I'm in, but I don't really have much of a choice,” Brady said on The Greg Hill Show on WEEI. “So I'm just trying to do the best I can to work with it.”

While Brady says he understands the NFL's decision to make the change, he adds that it is a difficult adjustment:

“You get used to the same helmet for a long period of time,” Brady said. “My last helmet, I wore it the last four Super Bowls, so it was a pretty great helmet for me. I hated to put it on the shelf. It's kind of what I'm dealing with.”

Brady is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 4,355 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 65.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.7 en route to a Pro Bowl selection. Most importantly, he led the Patriots to their sixth Super Bowl title and now has two more rings than any other signal-caller in league history.
