Assuming the New England Patriots don't make it to Super Bowl 53, the team will be sending the team's fewest amount of players to the NFL's Pro-Bowl in a decade.

The only two players selected for this season's Pro-Bowl are, per the Athletic's Jeff Howe, are only quarterback and legend Tom Brady and defensive back Stephon Gilmore.

The last time the Patriots sent only two players to the Pro-Bowl was in 2008 when kicker Stephen Gostowski and wideout Wes Welker were chosen.

The official announcement of all the Pro Bowl selections will be at 8 p.m. EST this upcoming Tuesday.

Brady isn't having the best year of his career, to say the least. But he's still been effective. So far he's thrown 3,979 yards with 24 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He's completing 65.9 percent of his passes and is in sixth in the NFL and third in the AFC in QBR. For being 41 years old, it's quite impressive that he's still able to be one of the NFL's best quarterbacks.

Gilmore has also proven himself to be one of the NFL's best quarterback and is excellent in man coverage. He regularly shuts down opposing teams best wide-receiver on a weekly basis.

The Patriots still have the opportunity to add a few more reserves to the roster in case of injury or Super Bowl appearances.

The Patriots are 9-5 on the season and are ranked first in the AFC North Division under head coach Bill Bellichek. They will face off next against the Buffalo Bills at home next Sunday, December 23rd.
