Bleacher Report writer Maurice Moton suggests that the New England Patriots should go after Seattle Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark in free agency this offseason to bolster their lackluster defensive front.

The Patriots have been one of the worst teams in the league at getting to the quarterback this season, ranking second-to-last in the NFL with just 26 sacks on the year. Defensive end Trey Flowers leads the club with just 6.5 sacks.

Clark has nearly half the amount of sacks New England has as an entire team this season, as he has taken down opposing quarterbacks 12 times in 2018.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Michigan, was originally selected by the Seahawks in the second round (63rd pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during what was a quiet rookie campaign, finishing with 16 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. The following year, however, Clark broke out, racking up 47 tackles, 10 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

Then, last year, the Cleveland, Oh. native totaled 32 stops, nine sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

In addition to his sack total this season, Clark has also registered 40 tackles, an interception, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

The Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills this past weekend to improve to 10-5 and clinch their 10th straight AFC East division title and 15th over the last 16 years.

New England can also nail down a first-round bye with a win over the New York Jets this weekend.
