Let's face facts: Tom Brady of the New England Patriots is 41 years old. Yes, he just won a Super Bowl this past season. Yes, he is coming off of a Pro Bowl appearance. But he will be 42 at the start of next season, and not even Brady is immune to Father Time.

That means the Patriots may need to consider drafting a quarterback sometime soon, and it seems like Duke's Daniel Jones could be that guy.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Patriots have “taken a shine” to Jones, whose draft stock has suddenly improved as of late.

The problem for New England is that it has the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft this Thursday, so, chances are, Jones will not be on the board at that spot.

As a result, the Pats will likely have to trade up to have a shot at Jones, which La Canfora notes.

Jones is coming off of a senior campaign in which he threw for 2,674 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while completing 60.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 131.7.

Those are hardly eye-popping numbers, but teams seem to like Jones' size (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) and demeanor, with NFL analyst Gil Brandt even recently comparing him to Peyton Manning.

As a matter of fact, one team reportedly has Jones No. 1 on their list of quarterbacks going into this draft, a list that includes the likes of Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, and Drew Lock.

Murray may be the most dynamic athlete, and Haskins may be the best pure passer, but could Jones be the jewel of the lot?
