The New England Patriots continue to churn through wide receivers, cutting Kenny Britt on Wednesday. There was some speculation that Bill Belichick could consider Dez Bryant as a replacement, but according to the NFL Network's Mike Giardi, that's not the case.

Asked a Patriots team source if they had any interest in Dez Bryant. “Probably no.”

Giardi also noted that New England could consider bringing back Jordan Matthews, who was released earlier this month as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Danny Amendola and Brandin Cooks also departed the franchise this offseason, with Amendola signing with the Miami Dolphins and Cooks traded to the Los Angeles Rams.

With Julian Edelman suspended for the first four games of the season, Tom Brady will rely on Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, and Cordarrelle Patterson to start the 2018 campaign. Eric Decker was brought in a few weeks ago, but there's a chance he doesn't make the final roster as he struggles in training camp.

As for Bryant, the most likely landing spot looks like the Cleveland Browns, who worked him out last Thursday. The three-time Pro Bowler was released by the Dallas Cowboys after the franchise decided not to apply the franchise tag to him after eight years with the organization. Since, he's failed to come to terms on a deal with a salary he believes he's worth.

The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers have also been connected to Bryant in rumors, but Cleveland remains the one franchise to give him a workout. Along with Jarvis Landry and a rejuvenated Josh Gordon, the Browns could boast one of the more intriguing receiving trios in the NFL if Bryant lands with the franchise.
