The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl last season, and Rob Gronkowski celebrated by retiring. It was a rumor that was kicked around a lot in the past few seasons but no one actually thought would happen.

Gronkowski seems set on his retirement, but at just 30 everyone knows he has a lot left in the tank. Then pictures surfaced of the tight end looking extremely slim and people started to wonder if he was actually serious about retirement.

However, Gronkowski watch is officially on. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com revealed that a source close to the Patriots legend believes there's a 40% chance Gronkowski will return.

Gronkowski will go down in history as one of the greatest tight ends of all-time, even if he stays retired. That being said, he can add a lot to his legacy if he decides to return.

Of course, this is all circumstantial at the moment. All we know is that there's apparently a source close to Gronkowski that gave his opinion. His opinion was basically 50-50. That's something anyone in the world could've given you. I could tell you right now I think there's a 40% chance he'll return. In fact, I think it's higher than that.

However, it's Gronkowski watch. We'll be grasping at straws for as long as we can. It also helps that Gronkowski felt the need to tell everyone that he's only lost 18 pounds – that's definitely something you can regain without much of a problem. That also tells me that for some reason the tight end didn't want people thinking he was that far off from his playing weight.

Rob Gronkowski's going to be a story until he returns or turns 50.

This guy has a lot of football left in him and clearly has tons of fun playing – so the speculation will always be there.
