When Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tom Brady made his official retirement announcement, many were quick to point out that he snubbed the New England Patriots. Of course it sent Twitter buzzing until Brady acknowledged his former team, albeit very little.

However, “First Things First” co-host Kevin Wildes threw a wild theory that could explain why Brady purposely left out the Patriots in his announcement. Contrary to what many believe, it is not because the two parties have some bad blood or whatsoever.

According to Wildes, Brady and the Patriots might be planning something behind the scenes to celebrate his retirement and pay tribute to the legacy that the seven-time Super Bowl winner leaves. He pointed out some hints that the legendary QB could be planning a return of some sorts, including his previous message about possibly going back to Gillette Stadium and the new logo Robert Kraft used in his message to Brady.

“There is something major afoot. I think there is something massive coming to Foxborough. There's a reason to be optimistic, Patriots Nation,” Wildes explained.

For what it's worth, it won't be surprising if the Patriots and Brady really have something planned to honor the retirement of the best QB in franchise history. Even before TB12 made his official decision to retire, there were already talks that he is planning to sign a one-day contract with New England to retire with them.

With that said, it makes sense he didn't include the Patriots in his announcement since there could be more coming where he'll dedicate it solely to New England and its fanbase.

While these are all just rumors and speculations for now, it will certainly be amazing if it does happen. Tom Brady had the best years of his career in New England, and it's only fitting he ends his career with the NFL team where his legacy started.
