New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was frank in his praise for the performance of the Los Angeles Rams in the moments after Sean McVay's squad defeated Belichick's 24-3 last Thursday.

In the video of the postgame embrace at midfield between the two head coaches, the six-time Super Bowl winner can be heard complimenting McVay on his team's stellar play.

“Great job. You killed us. You had a great plan. You’ve got a good team,” Belichick told McVay.

“I appreciate it,” McVay responded. “Thanks, coach.”

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman posted the footage amid a thread of mic'd up NFL moments.

In the decisive victory, McVay's Rams got a smidge of revenge for Super Bowl LIII, when the Patriots took down L.A., 13-3, in an abysmal Rams performance that marked the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history. Of course, Tom Brady was not involved in the most recent matchup.

Kleiman also shared footage of a few exchanges between McVay and Belichick before their 2018 Super Bowl bout. Greeting each other on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium field, McVay expressed his admiration for the most accomplished coach in NFL history, Patriots' Bill Belichick.

“You know, man, so much respect for you,” McVay told Belichick.

“Likewise,” Belichick said back.

Before that game, the coaches complimented each other on their respective tactics.

“Kinda interesting to be able to study for these couple of weeks, you guys are really good. Done a lot of good stuff,” Belichick said.

“Appreciate you saying that,” McVay responded. “Feelings are mutual. I mean, just the way you guys are able to shift your identity and really still be able to figure it out, week in and week out. It's unbelievable, man. It's really a credit to you guys. So much respect.”

The respect was mutual then, and clearly still is.
