It's well-documented that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a fan of Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed. On multiple instances, camera crews have caught him complimenting Reed endlessly, dubbing him as the greatest to do it.

On Friday, the NFL followed suit. They named Reed — who played with the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and New York Jets — a member of the NFL 100 All-Time Team. Belichick, while receiving film, called a Reed interception on Peyton Manning “one of the best I've ever seen.” Watch below.

Reed joined the panel, which included Belichick, to talk about his appearance on the historic list. In doing so, he earned a bombardment of compliments. To be fair toward's Belichick, he was really just that good in his heyday.

Reed is often credited as the godfather of what the free safety position is today.
