The New England Patriots selected Chase Winovich in the third-round (77th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Coming out of Michigan, the pass rusher brings absolute raw intensity to the field.

He brought that out in his first preseason NFL game, having a solid overall game. That game included his first NFL sack.

Chase Winovich is a psychopath, and I say that with as much love as possible. He's a psychopath in every possible way that you would want him on your team.

Remember that video of him at Michigan when he yelled at the offensive lineman to block him? Then when he picked up the sack, he screamed at the offensive lineman almost like he was disappointed that he didn't block him? That's the right type of psychopath that you want on your team.

He might not have gone that far, but he showed a lot of intensity on Thursday. He blew past the right tackle and brought down the quarterback without any issue here. That's not all Winovich did either.

In the end, he finished with three tackles and 1.5 sacks. The type of start to his career the rookie was looking for as he hopes to carve out a nice role in the defense.

A few more performances that show the electricity he brings to the defense like this and that role will be pretty defined.

The bottom line is pretty simple. Chase Winovich has loads of potential and could be another fantastic find by the New England Patriots. He showed that Thursday and you should expect to see more of that all preseason long.
