It remains to be seen who will be the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots in Week 1. However, that isn't stopping Jarrett Stidham from getting in work with some of New England's pass-catchers. In his latest Instagram post, Mohamed Sanu shared that he was putting in work with Stidham.

Sanu was a mid-season acquisition for the Patriots ahead of the NFL's trade deadline in 2019. The veteran wide receiver caught just 26 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown in eight games with New England.

On the other hand, Stidham is preparing as if he will be the starting quarterback when the 2020 season begins. Of course, the second-year quarterback is going to have to try and compete with Cam Newton — who signed with the Patriots last month.

Not long after Newton joined New England, the former NFL MVP was seen working out with Sanu. Now, the 30-year-old wide receiver was working on his chemistry with Stidham on Monday.

Last season, as a rookie fourth-round pick, Stidham spent most of his season sitting behind Tom Brady. In his lone chance to see the field, Stidham completed two passes for 14 yards versus the New York Jets. Although, he would be pulled from the game after he threw a pick-six to All-Pro Jamal Adams.

If Newton is healthy and able to get a grasp of Josh McDaniels' offense, then he will be the odds-on favorite to start for the Patriots in Week 1. Nonetheless, Stidham is making sure he's prepared to make his first career start if Newton falters.
