New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead scored a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter to trim the New York Jets' lead to three points.

The Patriots can't lose to the Jets, who have the worst record in the NFL at 0-8. Rex Burkhead is doing everything he can to make sure that doesn't happen.

Burkhead entered Week 9 with 45 carries on the season for 180 yards and two scores. The 30-year-old is hoping the Patriots can go on a run to end the season and make the playoffs in the first year of the post-Tom Brady era.

It doesn't look like the Patriots are going to win the AFC East since the Buffalo Bills are playing really good football. With that being said, New England will likely have to clinch a wild card spot to reach the postseason.
