Expect Playoff P to play in Game 2 of the Utah Jazz-Oklahoma City first-round series. According to Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman, Thunder forward Paul George is in line to play later tonight against the Jazz despite aggravating a right hip injury in the series opener.

George had an incredible performance in Game 1, and it would be a huge letdown for the Thunder and their fans if the two-way swingman would fail to suit up in the second leg of the series. In taking a 1-0 series lead, George detonated for 36 points on the strength of a 13-for-20 shooting from the floor to go with eight triples, seven rebounds, and a steal in 38 minutes of floor duty to lead Oklahoma City to a 116-108 victory. It was also the second straight contest in which George has had as many 3-pointers, burying eight treys in the regular-season finale 137-123 win over Memphis on Apr. 11. George finished the regular season with averages of 21.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in 79 games.

Paul George and the Thunder will host the Jazz again for Game 2 later tonight, focused on expanding their series lead to 2-0. That’s going to be easier said than done against a gritty Jazz team that was only beat in the first game largely because of OKC finding its rhythm from downtown.

The Thunder have won seven of their last 10 home games in the postseason. On the flipside, the Jazz have won in three of their last four games following a defeat.
