A couple of weeks removed from his first taste of Olympic Gold, Paul George continues his road back to greatness on and off the court.

The Indiana Pacers swingman has spent the better part of the last two years recovering from a gruesome leg injury and has found time to keep up with an Olympian who suffered a similar fate.

French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a devastating leg injury of his own early during the Rio Olympics, and when George found out, he was the first to offer his support and encouragement.

While it's unclear when and if they've met each other in person, the two have exchanged a few messages through social media.

It's heart-warming to see George pay it forward to someone completely unrelated to his basketball journey, but that is what makes the Olympics such a special event — it provides the stage to meet people from different places in different stages of life and still find a common bond.

The 6-foot-8 small forward might not have much in common with a 5-foot-6 gymnast that specializes in rings, but the injury was similar and George chose to reach out and encourage someone in need when he needed it the most.

Hopefully for every Ryan Lochte, there's a Paul George around.
