Paul George, the most coveted player of the 2017 offseason, has been working behind the scenes to craft his future in L.A. — gauging a possible interest in Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson to team up in purple-and-gold, according to Kelenna Azubuike of NBC Sports Bay Area via 95.7 The Game.

The Indiana Pacers have fielded proposals from all comers during this offseason, but have yet to show any strong interest in a trade, stalling in talks with the Los Angeles Lakers last week and getting their hopes deflated with other teams after George's camp informed potential trading partners that the 6-foot-9 wing would be nothing more than a rental, having now intentions to re-sign with any other team but the Lakers.

Yet George seems intent on ending up in the City of Angels, whether it is by trade of in the offseason of 2018, carving a potential star-studded lineup with the addition of Thompson.

The Warriors' shooting guard said during his post-NBA Finals presser that winning was too much fun to try and leave the team that drafted him back in 2011.

Thompson will become an unrestricted free agent in 2019, which could prove a problem for president Bob Myers, as Draymond Green will become a free agent a year later, making it tough to keep the core together if there isn't enough cap space to go around.

Having a quartet of All-Stars is feasible at the moment, but as the revenue and cap increase, so do the contracts for these players, which could very well have the Golden State brawn choose between their impact players when it comes time to gauge the direction of the future of the team.

George and Thompson are both from the L.A. area and it wouldn't be farfetched to see the Warriors marksman end up in his father's purple-and-gold in the distant future if the right offer and situation come along.
